Microblading for men: natural-looking masculine eyebrows nobody will notice
Male microblading isn’t about «designer» eyebrows. It’s about the opposite: filling in gaps, adding density and balancing your face without anyone knowing you’ve had anything done. That’s how Antonella approaches it at BLUSH, in the centre of Málaga.
What is male microblading for eyebrows?
It is the same semi-permanent hair-stroke technique used on women, using a manual tool to deposit pigment into the skin, in its upper layer, but with a different design goal. On a male face the brow is usually straighter, wider and has little arch. If the female pattern is copied, the result looks «done» straight away. That’s why the work starts by respecting the hair you already have and your facial structure, to complement your facial features while maintaining a masculine look.
Each of the hair-like strokes imitates natural eyebrow hair: direction, thickness and length. They are drawn slightly irregularly, because men’s brows are almost never perfect or symmetrical to the millimetre. That controlled irregularity is what gives natural-looking results.
How we design men’s brows and the shape of the brows
- A straighter shape with little arch. We keep the low, horizontal line most men have.
- More density, less definition. The body of the brow is filled in, but without sharp edges or a thin tail.
- Subtle, irregular strokes. Hairs of different lengths and directions, blended with your own eyebrow hairs.
- Colour matched to your hair and beard. We choose a shade the same as or slightly lighter than your hair, never darker.
- No over-plucking. Only stray hairs that get in the way are removed; no «shaping» as you would for a woman.
At the consultation Antonella draws the proposed shape on your skin before starting. If you don’t recognise yourself in the mirror, it gets changed. Nothing is pigmented until you’re happy with the brow shape.
When does it make sense to enhance a man’s eyebrows?
Gaps and sparse eyebrows
Filling in sparse areas at the tail or in the middle, brows that have thinned with age or hair loss, or that were always fine.
Scars in the brow
A childhood or sports cut that leaves a line with no hair. It can be camouflaged once the scar is mature and stable; scar tissue sometimes takes pigment unevenly and may need a touch-up.
Alopecia areata in the brows
Microblading camouflages the lack of hair, it doesn’t treat it. Ideally it is done when the area has been stable for some time and, if you’re having treatment, check with your dermatologist first.
Uneven eyebrows
One brow shorter than the other or a different arch. Restoring symmetry changes your overall appearance a lot without anyone noticing why.
Oily skin: microblading, shading or combination
Many men have oilier skin on the forehead with larger pores. On that kind of skin, fine hair strokes tend to blur sooner and may last fewer months. That’s why the shading effect (soft shading made of tiny dots) or the combination technique is sometimes better: hair strokes at the front and discreet shading through the body, which holds up better.
| Technique | Who it suits | Price at BLUSH |
|---|---|---|
| Hair-stroke microblading | Normal or dry skin, specific gaps, a very natural look | €270 |
| Shading effect | Oily skin, very sparse brows, a fuller effect | €270 |
| Microblading + shading | Anyone who wants visible strokes and longer duration | €300 |
| Annual touch-up | Keeping the colour and shape | €170 |
The price for men is the same as for women: there is no supplement for masculine brows. You’ll find all the details on our microblading prices page.
Antonella’s tip: if you shave your head or have a strong beard, bring a photo of how you normally look. The colour of your brows has to live with your beard, not compete with it.
What the process involves
- Consultation and design. We assess your skin, your hair and what you want to correct. The shape is drawn and the colour chosen.
- The session. About two hours in total. A numbing cream is applied to keep it comfortable; most describe it as mild discomfort.
- Healing. For the first few days the colour looks more intense, then it lightens and settles. Follow the aftercare instructions: avoid sun, saunas, swimming pools and intense gym sessions for a few days.
- Touch-up. About 4 to 6 weeks later we check and fill in any hairs that haven’t taken well.
Discretion: nobody needs to know
It’s one of the most common questions. When we finish, your brows look a little darker for a few days, but there are no bandages or noticeable swelling: you can go back to work the next day. Once healed, the natural and subtle result means people notice well-groomed eyebrows and that «you look well», not that you’ve been microbladed. At BLUSH the appointment is one to one with Antonella, and you can book and ask your questions on WhatsApp; the centre speaks Spanish, and we can help you in English via WhatsApp.
How long does it last on male eyebrows?
It usually lasts between 1 and 2 years, depending on your skin, the sun and how you look after it. On oily skin it tends to last less, which is why an annual touch-up is recommended. If you’d like to see real results before deciding, there are client photos in microblading before and after.

Microblading for men FAQs
Does male microblading look like a tattoo?
Not if the design is right. Unlike traditional tattooing, the strokes are fine, irregular and the colour of your hair, and the pigment sits much more superficially, so it doesn’t turn blue or green.
How much does it cost for men?
At BLUSH it costs €270, the same as the standard treatment. The shading effect is also €270 and the combination technique €300. The annual touch-up is €170.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is used. You feel a scratching or slight stinging, but it is very bearable and we can stop whenever you need.
What is best for oily skin?
Usually shading or the combination, because shading holds up better than fine strokes on oily skin. We decide at the consultation after seeing your skin.
Can I have it if I have alopecia areata in my brows?
Yes, as camouflage, once the area is stable. Microblading doesn’t treat alopecia; if you’re having treatment, mention it to your dermatologist first.
Do you offer nano brows for men?
No. Nano brows (strokes made with a machine needle) are another option you’ll see online, but at BLUSH we work with hand microblading, shading and the combination, which cover men’s cases well.
How can men make their brows look darker without treatment?
A brow tint colours your existing hair for a few weeks, but it doesn’t fill in gaps. A skilled microblading artist can draw hair where there isn’t any.
If you’re looking for a trusted place for microblading in Málaga, BLUSH is at C. Constancia 23, 29002 Málaga, next to the city centre and near María Zambrano station, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00.
